You should give the people at the Old Faithful
Geyser in Calistoga a call and see how their's is acting these days. Dr. Paul Silver of Carnegie has it monitored 24 hours a day. I was there just a few months ago to see the owner once again and if you haven't been, its well worth your time. You can take a picnic lunch and sit on one of the many picnic tables in the area. They also have fainting sheep, some chickens and a few cats. Its usually quite warm over there. If you have the time, there's nothing like one of those mud baths in town or a swim in a mineral pool. Smells, but feels terrific. "smile" They are quite forthcoming with the geysers schedule, so don't feel they would not welcome your call. They are very friendly.

I was in Geyserville two months ago. Its very small, but friendly as well.
