IMPORTANT Earthquake forecasting research announcement

This could be one of the most important earthquake forecasting research announcements ever made.

Some time ago I created some Basic language computer programs which make it possible to match earthquake precursor data with earthquakes which occurred in the past. When a good match is observed it can at times serve as an indicator that there is about to be another earthquake in that area.

The programs work. But they took so long to run and were so limited in their abilities that it could take a full two days of effort to try to evaluate a single expected earthquake.

I estimated that it might take me some 40 hours of intense effort to convert those Basic language programs into the Perl language which is far more powerful, versatile, and easy to work with.

That effort was just largely completed.

The same types of output results are being generated. But instead of taking 2 hours for the program to make it through a single round of calculations it now takes it less than 5 second. And powerful new features can now be easily added to the program.

With this new program which just became operational early this morning I should be able to begin taking a much closer look at how the sun and moon gravities etc. affect earthquake triggering and earthquake warning signal times and learn how to better match them. Also, the program can be transferred to other people fairly easily. The one limitation which must be overcome at this point is to get some support programs running which produce data regarding the positions of the sun and the moon in the sky. The program needs that information for its database. I can generate those data myself. But other people would not be able to do that. It should not be too difficult to get those support programs developed.

I believe that it should be possible for people around the world to use this program to evaluate their own Ear Tone data etc. and at times determine where the fault zone responsible for the Ear Tone is located.

In any case, in my opinion the earthquake forecasting door has now officially swung open. Faster and hopefully more accurate and reliable forecast results should be possible. And the door is also open for doing some advanced earthquake related research.

More later on this.
