Hi Roger. If one really wants to increase the odds of being correct they would choose a location somewhere in the eastern hemisphere and north of the equator. In the year 2002 there were 13 M>7.0+ quakes. 11 of those occurred in the Eastern Hemisphere with 8 of them north of the equator. In 2003 there were 14 M>7.0+ and one M>8.3 quake for a total of 15. 12 of those were in the Eastern Hemisphere including the M>8.3 quake. 9 of those quakes were north of the equator. When looking at a 30-year period the ratio appears to be about 5 quakes to 1 in favor of the Eastern Hemisphere. You’re right about it meaning nothing. It doesn’t mean diddlysquat until you give the location, date and magnitude and you do it before the quake occurs. Take Care…Don in creepy town
