Earthquake research update (plus) new EarthWaves window

My main present project is still to send a group of earthquake research proposals to various international groups. Two have largely been written. One focuses more on earthquake – solar storm – geomagnetic storm - electromagnetic energy field related health effects.

I am part of the way through a lengthy evaluation of 6 months worth of precursor signals to see how many might have pointed to that recent catastrophic Iran earthquake. Surprisingly, a number of the “Ear Tones” look like they might have pointed to it. And that includes ones sent to me by other people including someone living much closer to Iran.

Quite a bit of effort has been going into finding a better programming language. I have been relying mostly on a Basic program up until now. And it can’t handle all of the data that I need to work with. Perl looks most attractive at the moment. I now have it up and running on my computer. And I have an experimental page at my Web site which discusses that language:

Perl For Amateur Computer Programmers

I am now focusing on finding a language which has Windows program and Windows screen control capabilities. Perl can apparently do that. But it looks like it is a little difficult. With another older program that I have been using it is easy.

Hi Canie and Joan,

Unless there was a glitch, it appears that you installed a larger text entry window. I am guessing that this was in response to my earlier recommendation along those lines. The larger window should make it easier to enter Web site addresses etc. without having them “wrap.”

However, I suspect that the new window might be a little too large. It looks like it is something like 100 spaces wide. And with many computer monitors the text might run off the right side of the screen and be a little difficult to proofread.

Perhaps you could do a survey and see what people feel might be the ideal text window size. I am going to guess that it would be something like 80 spaces wide. One that wide might fit on everyone’s computer screen and still allow people to enter lengthy Web site addresses without having them wrap.
