Solar Electron Study: 7.1M in Alaska

Here's another variation on interpreting solar electron flux to forecast earthquakes.

About 17:00 UTC yesterday the graph above the median made two major dips, then began a long gradual dip below the median line. Around 22:44 UTC USGS reports a 7.1M quake 45 miles from Anchorage. The dip was just below the median, but it continued down to the level close to that seen for 6M and greater quakes in the Loyalty Islands.

Of similar interest is a 6.4M quake in the New Britains at 22:35 UTC, just before the one above.

Thus big quakes do not necessarily occur when dip curves reach deeper levels below the median.
That reminds me of the second big Chinese quake that was not predictable.

"Earthquakes cannot be predicted." I don't think this is conclusive, but it surely highlights the problem.
