Re: Possible earthquake - clarification needed

Hello EQF,

I read all of the links referenced and I do not see a particular reference to Iran. While I can say it seemed from what you were posting you did expect one or more large earthquake events some place in the world, but as to being specific neither Iran or the Loyalty Islands would have fit within those posted notes.

However, let us not throw the baby out with the bath water. You or a reporter of an ear tone heard something unusual, so that being the case if one can take the length of the tone, or sound of the tone and analyse what information was at hand and note it, perhaps if these locations experience something similar in the future, those notes will be helpful. Experience is a good teacher.

When the Nisqually earthquake of 2/01 occurred I hadn't developed my tone distance calculation method at the time, so I didn't know where the tone was being generated from, other than very north of me. But it had a sound I will never forget. Though it was extremely loud, at the end it sounded like a bomb went off. That only happens with subduction zone quakes, so now I know they don't sound like ordinary quakes. You too can make the most of what you hear by noting those little nuances.

Take Care...Petra
