Re: SCEC on National geographic channel tonight |
Boy, was this a scary show! If you live in, or near, LA - I thought we'd be pretty safe when the SAF goes down in Palm Springs area - but I guess not.. (Long Beach) - as it appears the waves get amplified through the basin here.. And no info on the Puente Hills Fault in the fault index on SCDC.. The Program did say that the Puente Hills fault was capable of destroying LA buildings, skyscrapers, but it's average time between events is 3,000 years. And, we don't know where we are in the cycle. Seems to me, some trenching work, or something, is in order to determine the risk.. but of course, that doesn't really tell you when the next one might happen... Ahhh - a study below shows they have done more research on this fault..from the study: and Canie Follow Ups: ● Re: SCEC on National geographic channel tonight - Skywise 22:40:09 - 9/7/2006 (214) (1) ● Axial fold surface - heartland chris 08:55:03 - 9/9/2006 (226) (0) ● Re: SCEC on National geographic channel tonight - Skywise 22:36:06 - 9/7/2006 (213) (1) ● Double post. - Skywise 23:52:28 - 9/7/2006 (216) (0) ● Re: SCEC on National geographic channel tonight - Cathryn 22:34:53 - 9/7/2006 (212) (0) |
