Roger, you saw all of the responses made after I posted that announcement note to the Newsgroups regarding the fact that your program can now be downloaded from this Web site. The subject matter had nothing to do with my own forecasting efforts. But reading those notes you might come to the conclusion that World War III was just around the corner.

The idea is to get information circulated in such a manner that people are aware of it without at the same time disrupting anything. It is unfortunate that such an approach has to be used. But that appears to be the reality of the situation. The alternative is to do the work in complete secrecy. That might be safer. But it is far less productive. The work will go much slower and often come to a halt when some obstacle is encountered.

I am considering posting a note here and also to the Newsgroups regarding how risky it can be to be more open regarding these things. I have been studying some of the computer virus activities which have been taking place during the past few months largely because I did not have much choice. They were affecting my own work.

I would regard those virus activities as something to be concerned about.
