Don-actually, what EQF was probably talking about is the polarity of the magnetic field in space, near earth-I guess it tilts in a way that either blocks or permits magnetic storms at ground. I think this is on a short (days or weeks) time frame. I ran into this a couple times a month ago when the big flares got me interested in magnetic storms.....but, I only partly/barely understand what I just posted. Chris
