In my previous assessment I used the historical Moment Sensor Solution for a nearby quake. The Moment Sensor Solution for this quake is now available, and surprise, P is toward the northwest. Thus the quake listed by Red Puma for the Laptev Sea can be considered an aftershock, and the South Pacific is off the hook.

Since the vector extended the other direction is along the Aleutian chain, one has to wonder about deep plate energy transmission toward South America, where Mount Tungurahua in Ecuador while active has been not as active recently.
