In The Middle Of The Second Week

Hi All. I would like to point out that we are in the second week of November and the forth day of that week. We have already had 4 quakes at M>6.0 and larger and all of them were in my first choice which was the Western Pacific Ocean. There have been 5 if you want to count the aftershock for the Kermadec Islands quake. Does that mean we won’t get any more quakes this week? Probably not. Quakes ignore the “Laws of Averages.”

Does this mean I can predict earthquakes? Not really. I merely used the various quake catalogs and found where most of the M>6.0 quakes occurred for a year. The other thing that should be noted is that the number of quakes are pretty evenly spilt between north and south of the equator, but that more quakes occur in the eastern hemisphere then in the western hemisphere by a ratio of about 3 to1. Take Care…Don in creepy town
