Gradually expanding earthquake forecasting group

As pointed out before, I am a member of an informal international group of earthquake forecasting researchers which just got organized this year and which is gradually expanding. There is no other person here in the U.S. who is presently a member of that group.

I recently made contact with a professional computer programmer who is actually willing to talk with people who are doing earthquake forecasting research (heaven forbid!). And we are discussing different versions of Basic, the Windows scripting language, CGI and Web site development work etc.

What I myself consider to be a potentially very important research effort being conducted by group personnel reached an advanced state this week. And it might be possible to begin discussing that effort in EarthWaves board notes in a week or two.

So, there is some progress being made.
