The quakes triggered in 1992 and in 1999 were recognized at the time, so this is not new. What is new is looking at the 19 century quakes in the east. Hough suggests that the New Madrid earthquakes may not have been quite as big as some thought because the widespread damage/felt area was partly due to quakes in other locations at about the same time....Chris
