Just wanted to comment on a detail of your post. As an example, I've mentioned on this board in the last month easily reproducible results that I am just submitting to Nature next week, as well as talked it over with about a dozen scientists around the country.

We have a variety of styles, but most would be dead in the water if we didn't take every opportunity to discuss our work with other people with complementary knowledge.
