Let me try to spell this out clearly:

If your methods

(1) are not working, and
(2) are not competently explained, and
(3) you characterize others' efforts as hapless and uninformed, and
(4) you belittle someone who just got some helpful legislation passed as not having your beatific soulfulness,

you are exposing yourself to criticism, in my opinion.
