Not that they are likely to ever read this board, but I try to appear somewhat scholarly in case any of the 90 students in my Earthquake class at the moment browse over here.

Or the people in my dept or institute. I can't wear my old sandals and cut-off shorts, and carry around a fountain pen and a brief case for the same reasons.

Although, in fact, I am rather humorless and lacking in imagination, a regular Mr. Hyde or Clark Kent.
