I'm on the move for some other work, but for the last few days have wanted to post a message re conditions in South Asia. Shan has been talking of severe quake formations not only in the Solomon Islands and Java but also around the eastern India-China border. He also agreed with Don and others about a possible 7+ in Tokyo.

A geologist I am in contact with has evidence to show that prior to a major earthquake there is a build up of low pressure in the region concerned.
Over the past week, low pressure has certainly been noted over northern India and up and across to the Bay of Bengal. The area singled out by Shan for a possible big one is just north of this low pressure area. As usual I suppose we have to wait and watch. But perhaps some of you have some thoughts on low pressure build ups as a precursor to earthquakes.
