Re: Total Success - Better Than I Ever Imagined

Hi All,

In my moment of excitement I forgot to say Thank You to our friend Don in Hollister. If it were not for his constant efforts, help with research, getting me to Sacramento and back, this work could not have been accomplished at all. He played a very large roll in bringing the bits and pieces together. So Thank You from the bottom of my heart that together we brought a problem to light and gave it to the right people to afford a solution.

In the Thank You department I also have a rather unusal person to thank. As I set aside my interests in earthquake prediction in what goes on pretty much in my daily life, I have to acknowledge the one individual that provided the turning point for me in kindling my interest in earthquake preparedness and safety. I want to thank Dr. Allan Lindh of the USGS Menlo Park office. I happened upon him actually by what seemed a chance encounter and he spent a good deal of time talking to me about preparedness issues and their importance. He rather sparked the flame that has given me countless reasons to take a serious look at preparedness. And why not. He was the person who helped develop the San Luis Obispo County earthquake preparedness program.

To these two fine gentlemen I cannot express my gratitude in words, it really is a feeling that comes from the heart. It gave me a reason to seek the legislation and realize how vast the lack of preparedness is today. I hope with the inspiration of these to, the work ahead outside of science will prove to be equally successful.

Petra
