Friends of mine enjoy Solstice at Tofino's
spectacular Hot Springs Cove, one and one-half
hours by boat north past Vargas and Flores islands
Wish I could be there for Solstice as Victoria is going to be frosty tonight. The rocks at Hot Springs are always warm to sit on, bathed in mist that the sun shines through. The springs come out in the rainforest 500 feet from the beach
and along as a creek to the rock shoreline where it drops as a 6 foot waterfall. Four pools from very hot down to hot and cold as waves wash into
the bottom pool from the cold Pacific. Often
enjoy music there, flute drum and song. Tough on the instruments though, all that steam.
