Healdsburg Quake. Past And Present

Hi All. Just ran a catalog search of the quakes in the Healdsburg area for Jan. 2000. The catalog used was ANSS with a radius of 5 miles. You know the song “What a difference a day makes?” In this case it’s what a difference 3 years make.

After the first M>4.0+ quake there was a very energetic aftershock sequence that lasted until 01/22/2000 when it dropped pretty dramatically. So far the aftershocks for this most recent quake don’t come anywhere near those in 2000. There were 21 aftershocks of M>1.0 and larger a little more then 2hrs after the first M>4.0+ quake while at the same time there have only been 2 for this recent quake.

I heard Petra’s wahoo all the way to Hollister. Well not really, but she did call me and when I heard the squeals of delight I knew she felt an earthquake. One day soon she is going to feel the quake that will make her sit up and take notice. She may not be eager to feel the next one. Naw. No such luck. Take Care…Don in creepy town
