The quake mentioned is in India on the eastern major fault of the Indoaustralian tectonic plate that extends south to Myanmar and Indonesia. There continue to be major aftershocks for the 7.6M July 15 quake on the Carlsberg Ridge in the western Indian Ocean, and the Moment Sensor Solution suggests this is the source for the quake mentioned here. Such quakes seem more prone to trigger quakes north and south along the fault.
