The KP readings are magnitometer readings from various land based locations that measure the magnetic field. If you click on the picture, it'll give you a blown up look at that picture. In the description portion towards the bottom it gives some of the locations where one is San Jose.

The other readings on that page are from the GOES spacecraft such as the electron flux.
