If and when I get this year 1990 to year 2003 data chart finished you will be able to actually see what effect the positions of the sun and moon in the sky etc. have on different earthquakes. With the catastrophic January 1995 earthquake in Kobe, Japan the sun and moon were I believe 90 degrees directly to the east and west of the fault zone. I forget which was east and which was west. In any case it could be proposed that their gravitational pulls yanked the fault zone apart. Whether or not that was the actual triggering mechanism has yet to be determined.
