I will give that some thought. But I think that Shan is actually the person who should apply for research funding for that GPS simulator project. I myself do not even know how he makes his measurements or does the calculations. I will try passing your suggestion along to him in case he does not see your note.

A reference that I found linked with that one research group in the former Soviet State of Georgia looked like it represented an attempt to get some NSF funding for earthquake forecasting research. And the proposal said that the work was not being funded. Perhaps they already tried and failed. I know that I have myself written repeatedly to different U.S. government agencies strongly recommending that they conduct certain types of relatively simple earthquake forecasting research. You should see this one written response that I received. What a ridiculous excuse for not doing the research! What are those people thinking? One of my contacts who at one time had a tremendous amount of clout in government circles told me that he also tried to get funding for such efforts and in spite of all of his influence at the very highest levels of government was given a flat “NO!”
