Now For The Rest Of The Story |
Hi All. Not to long ago Petra and I were discussing the way USGS was explaining as to when the next major quake would occur in the Bay Area. We both agreed that basing the 30 year window on the average mortgage of a home was not the best way to do it as it in some ways mislead the people. Petra then sent Dr. Charles Groat the director of the USGS an e-mail taking him to task. She explained to him what she felt and how she thought it would be better to just come and say that between years such and such that a large to major quake was going to occur in the Bay Area. By doing it this way there would be no doubt in anyone’s mind as to the “when” the next major quake was going to occur. His reply to her in simple terms was that he appreciated her thoughts and would take it under advisement. The latest release by USGS about the next major quake in the Bay Area is expected to occur between the years 2003-2032. This was what Petra wanted to see as it spells it out plain and simple. Thank you Petra for being the caring Lady you are.
