Hi David,

Welcome to Earthwaves!

I think every scientist who can, in their own unique way has said to expect something. As to when, sounds like sooner than later.

But you know, quite often you have the type of activity you've been having of late and you fully expect a quake and it shows up in some other place.

But looking at the last year or so, the quake activity over that way has been interesting. We had the 5.2 in Yountville, a 3.7 in Brentwood (of all places) several swarms in your area and so you have to wonder, is it possible the strain is moving south and not north? So if its going south, where should the next quake arrive? How about east of San Jose near Mt. Hamilton? Or it could hop over and activate the currently more active Hayward fault near San Leandro, or the truly unexpected, Alameda.

The Bay Area in general is more active now than it has been in the past two years, thus the range of possibilities is much greater.

I'm sure with your wake up call you must be more prepared than ever, right?
