I have read most of what Duncan has said as my interest lay in the crustal deformation area.

I have had some success in using the dilational strain at the San Juan Bautista site in regards to knowing that an earthquake was about to occur. This has happened 7 times in the last 3 years. All of the strain was seen at the Echo Valley data. The data is no longer in use as the site is broke. I have been advised that the site is going to be replaced with a tensor strain data. No date has been given as to when this will be done.
