Hi Don -

First, Petra has acused EQF of plagairism - He did not plagairize. Here Petra is wrong.

Second - Petra has been asked (and you), more than once, not to attack everything EQF says - you both are constantly riding him. This is a 'free country' so to speak and he can post here.

Third - my understanding of the 'EQF' usage is so that when he gets a communication its understood where that person saw his references. That identity helps him determine the source of the info. There's nothing wrong with that. I think there are many personages on the web that use alias's. Why do you object?

Fourth - My understanding of EQF's info is he has a database of info setup at his web site (131.html) contining what he has collected as various precursors as determined by a wide range of people be they solar flares, tidal, ear tones, magnetic anomolies, etc - all those things that have over the years thought to be earthquake precursors by a wide variety of resources (not all scientific) and of quakes that may be realted to those precursors. If that data is examined then some ocorelation can be made to current precursors and a possible prediction can be made for a forthcoming earthquake. This data requires analysis to come up with a prediction. I'll be the first to note the data is confusing to look at with the odd longitudes and latitudes adjusted to some 90 degrees (or something like that). I believe he says if anyone will take the time to look over this data then they can come up with their own predictions like you have done.

He has written one page on his site that seems to have summarized all the current ideas on how earthquakes may be caused or triggered. Its a very complete document and at no time have I gotten the notion that he's come up with this info all on his own. He has simply summarized it into one complete document.

As to why he doesn't post his predictions here - I don't know. What I think is being misunderstood is that after the quake occurs, he looks back at the data and sees relationships of the precursor info to other quakes and precursor info and determines a possible realtionship. Once these relationships are made, if the same precursor data comes around again, one can say "this same set of precurosr happened before this quake, so maybe there is a quake about to happen at this location once more"

Sometimes he looks at the data and does see a relationship to what happened prior and sends out warnings to affected areas. I have seen those warnings - I do not keep a record of hits/misses.

We all do what we think is important in this world - we live in a free country - we have free speech. I have some rules on this forum that insist we be congenial - you can question a persons ideas but I must call a halt at the personal attacks.

And finally - there seems to be a swarm of sorts happening in the Bay area - maybe this is upsetting the sensitives....I hope we don't have any other disasters on the heels of Columbia.

Canie
