I work with a number of different earthquake warning type signals. And one which I observe only occasionally was detected earlier today, January 26, 2003. It was quite strong, suggesting to me that it was probably linked with a fairly powerful earthquake. These signals can be detected weeks before the actual earthquake. I believe that they are linked with geomagnetic storm activity of some type. But I have been checking different Web sites and am not seeing anything too unusual such as an especially strong solar flare etc. - These are personal opinions.
