I tend to think these 2 occurring close in time is not a coincidence, but 2 is too small a number for statistics. Maybe we will get a third M>3 today in California.... Any suggestions why earthquakes might cluster like this? (have not been any recent very large global EQs, time lag too large for P or S wave triggering, distance too great and size too small for static stress....
