Hi Mary. That is the problem. You might as well spit into the wind if you want to get people to read something that for all purpose and intent are at their finger tips.

In Japan the information was on the TV. People would also receive the literature in their mail. It could also be found in the work place. In the Tokyo area reminders about a major quake could be seen almost anywhere. At least that was the way it was when I lived in Japan. This wasn’t done in the Kobe area. That is one of the reasons the death toll was over 5000. The people there were not prepared for the quake that centered there. Nor was the government. No one was prepared for that quake. Seeing what happened there tells me the same thing could happen here. There are no reminders that the next major quake is just around the corner.

I will admit there are times when I feel like I’m beating a dead horse when it comes to earthquake preparedness. Most people don’t even think about it. I live in a mobile home park and when I asked the residents if they were prepared for the next major quake the answer was NO! They don’t even want to think about it, or we came through the last one with no problems, or there isn’t going to be a major quake in their lifetime. Most of the time though is that they haven’t given it any thought. People have to be reminded from time to time that we do live in “earthquake country” and we should be prepared for the next major quake. Take Care…Don in creepy town
