NATIONAL FLOOD INSURANCE PROGRAM LAPSE

The current authorization for the National Flood Insurance Program is scheduled to terminate on Dec. 31, 2002. Although Congress is expected to re-authorize the program as soon as it re-convenes on Jan. 7, during the period between Dec. 31 and the date on which Congress acts, there will be a disruption in the program.
