Also, isn't there some kind of a cross-country linament (?) or gravity/magnetic anomaly that runs across the country (thru Kansas?) and maybe on up towards Alaska (or ocean waters south of it)? Maybe it channels energy or something?

Also, looks like the Kansas quake was predicted out on usenet.
