My data clearly and abundantly indicate to me that the times when many earthquakes are triggered and when certain types of precursor signals are generated are linked with the positions of the sun and the moon in the sky. And an important goal here is to discover how the sun and moon gravitational forces are controlling those events. *** Are they producing ocean or Solid Earth Tide crests and troughs which strain fault zone to the point where earthquakes are triggered? *** Are they producing an abrupt acceleration of the material in the fault zone which pulls the rock layers apart? *** Are they bending the rock layers and producing small fractures which rapidly expand into a full earthquakes? My own present theory proposes that triggering takes place when fault zones which are about to fracture on their own are bent, stretched, and compressed in just the right manner. But, exactly how are those bending processes etc. being controlled? It is my belief that once that control mechanism is understood it might become fairly easy to use the information to generate reasonably good earthquake forecasts. And the types of data which I have been adding to my Web site are designed in part to provide people with information related to that subject matter which can be evaluated in an effort to determine how those control processes are taking place. The gravity data that I have stored there do not appear to me to be showing that there is an easily identified link between the strength of the sun and moon gravitational pulls and earthquake triggering times. And unfortunately, although initial results looked promising, after doing a considerable amount of Solid Earth Tide data processing I have so far been unable to identify a clear link between those data and the triggering control processes. Additional work will be done on those data before a final decision is made regarding that. SUMMARY: I feel that my data are clearly showing that the longitudes of the positions of the sun and the moon in the sky are affecting earthquake triggering times etc. And it is important that we determine the nature of that control mechanism. Over the centuries, many people appear to have proposed theories regarding it. I myself have been discussing it for years with geophysicists around the world. And to date I have not seen any theories which appear to me to fully explain how it works.
