Hi Canie. On 07/08/1986 there was a 6.0Ms at 34.00/-116.61. It appears there may have been a foreshock of 3.4Ml on 06/18/1986. It was within a couple of miles from the strong quake.

The quake that occurred at 33.992/-116.846 is within 10 miles of these two quakes.

The second largest quake was on 12/16/1988 and it was a 5.2Ml. This quake appears to have been close to the end of the aftershocks as they started diminishing about this time. I don’t think anyone can really say that the quakes in the area have returned to normal background level. There was a 4.1Ml on 06/28/1992 as well as some 3.0+.

As for the quake in the Salton Sea area. There have been a good number of 3.0+ but nothing you would want to write home about.

That means there is only one thing a person can do with something like this. That is sit back, put your heels up and wait. I’m getting to be a pro at doing that. One day that is going to catch up with me. Were going to have a quake that will take the chair and me and dump us with me landing on my keister. Take Care…Don in creepy town
