Hi Don,

The attached link to WAPMERR should be reviewed carefully. One should ask, is it a vehicle for earthquake prediction? On the surface, it's difficult to tell. You must go to the bottom of the page to use the available links as the buttons elsewhere do not work. But it clearly says the Dr. Max Wyss is the Director of WAPMERR.

But I would also like to invite everyone to look at the membership application. First and foremost, it does not say how much it costs to become a member. Secondly, in the questions asked, it leaves room for one to decline the request for membership by several factors; country of origin is one and ones occupation may be another.

I wrote and asked How Much and got no response. I pointed out that in the USA to become a member of the AGU for instance does not require one to list their occupation or submit their passport number either. If one does not know how much, then how can one decide if they wish to become a member? Or does one complete the application and then is advised what the membership costs if they are eligible? I asked all of these questions.

Frankly, if you want to collect money to promote anything, you have got to tell people how much the investment is. Obviously after spending my 80 cents on postage, they were not interested in my becoming a member. Oh gosh, I'm excluded already.

Petra
