Re: Identifying earthquake – solar storm links

This is most of the text of a note that I just posted to a number of Internet Newsgroups including sci.astro.seti.

Does anyone know of any Web sites where information can be found regarding when and where solar storms hit the Earth and what types of storms are involved such as proton, electron, X-ray etc. Those types of data would probably have to be archived at the Web site as I would not be able to constantly monitor it to learn when a storm has begun.

Or, perhaps there is some e-mail service which circulates those types of data.

THE REASON FOR ASKING

On the following Web page I have a table containing information related to earthquakes and earthquake precursors. And I would like to begin adding solar and geomagnetic storm data to that table so that possible links can be identified between those storms and earthquakes and some of their precursors.

One copy of this note was posted to a SETI Newsgroup. That is because I suspect that some of the computer programs which SETI researchers are using to search for patterns in the radio signals they are monitoring might also work for identifying important patterns in earthquake precursor data. And, if anyone would like to discuss that possibility then they can contact me about it.

For some theory information regarding earthquake - solar - geomagnetic storm links and earthquake precursor data pattern recognition see:
