Whiz Banger Of A Storm

Hi All,

Well, we weren't knocked sideways by an earthquake, however, the storminess of the past two days has held some in the San Francisco Bay Area in awe. In short supply was electricity. Since deregulation a few years ago our Pacific Gas and Electric Company had to let go of thousands of repair people and when big storms rolls through getting your power back takes a whole lot longer. Even at this time some folks who lost it last night, still don't have any. It's a time to clean out the ole refrigerator for them.

We had trees broken, twisted and uprooted all over. One interesting story I got today was about a house in San Rafael. Apparently they had it bad down there last night. The entire roof of this two story home blew off and the place was plummeted by rain and tree debris. The house is a mess. One of my clients reported having her fence down. Though that's not uncommon, the odd part was that the posts which held up the fence split from top to bottom and then broke off. Now we're talking about a whole different type of event.

Frankly, I love a good storm. You name it and I love it. But it is inconvenient not to have the power on, but that's when good radio listening occurs. You get all of the nitty gritty details about what's happening. There were many reports of lightning turning the sky a beautiful blue color. Now that's something to enjoy. Of course driving is anything but pleasant. Lots of folks were treated to hydroplaning on the bridges last night. Kinda scary.

I see Alaska is still hogging all of the quake activity and even Vermont had a little bitty 1.9 today. Never a dull moment.
