The Ml 4.8 Hector Mine Aftershock

The earthquake in the Hector Mine region of Ml 4.8 (Mb 4.6) today was the largest aftershock in the area since the immediate aftershocks of the Mw 7.6 in October 1999. Also the largest earthquake in the southern California area since the Anza earthquake of October 31, 2001, although a Ml 4.8 did also occur in the Yorba
Linda area on September 3, 2002.
