Don - the first thing you need to learn is that, to a geologist, a no trespassing sign says: All geologists welcome here. (No, I won't say I condone trespassing!)

It sounds like you guys sure had fun - I wish I could take fun trips with you too. I spent some time looking at the San Jacinto fault on Saturday while hiking in Indian Canyons. I'm off to hike the Grand Canyon - we leave Long Beach Nov 8th - camp and hike down the canyon, spend 2 nights at Phantom Ranch and hike out on Nov 12th - There aren't many faults there but there sure is a lot of geology!
