Re: Earthquake forecasting projects

There appears to be a misunderstanding here. I am not trying to get anyone to duplicate the general earthquake forecasting procedure I have developed. And so there is no need to provide “proof” that it works.

I am trying to get some research group to develop more advanced versions of the computer programs which I am using to translate incomprehensible precursor data into information which scientists can understand. But those programs would be far too complicated for people posting notes here to develop. For one thing they would require some input from geophysicists.

What I am instead proposing here is that CGI programs should be developed which would enable people including myself to submit precursor data through some Web site data entry screen. They would then process and store those data in such a manner that everyone could see them. And that would, among other things, hopefully enable us to determine which forecasting procedures work and which ones do not.

Canie’s response to one of my other notes indicates that she already has that basic type of CGI program running. It collects Ear Tone data and stores it in a file somewhere at her (this) Web site. But her program likely does not do any probability calculations etc. The programs I am proposing be developed would. And PERL CGI programs are relatively easy to create and run. But they do require some time. And I myself am focusing on other parts of this effort at the moment.

Finally, if you want to see how the data processing procedures I am using work then you can read the reports at my FreeWebz.com Web site which discuss them in detail. And here are the types of data I am evaluating:

Seismic Activity and Storm Data
