Re: Earthquake forecasting projects

Hi Don, since that powerful earthquake in Indonesia earlier this month, warning signal activity of the type that I monitor has been fairly low. Even “ear tone” signals have been down to perhaps one every other day. My present theories propose that this is partly because geomagnetic storm activity is at a fairly low level and partly because no powerful earthquakes capable of generating those types of signals are about to occur. Remember, those are just theories.

Additionally, it can take me several days to process my warning signal data with the procedures and computer programs which I am using at the moment. And I am presently circulating only an occasional forecast.

The Internet Web site precursor data programs I have been discussing would contain routines designed to process and display submitted data in different ways including the ones which I myself use. I believe that we could then easily see which procedures were working and which ones were not. However as I said, although I have now done some of the preliminary work for getting those programs operational and am spending a small a mount of time on this each day, they are really waiting for other people to express some interest in them. I myself presently am focusing on other parts of the overall effort.
