I believe that his “earthquake cloud” based forecasting procedure probably works. For one example, early in 2002 I sent people some data for a possible earthquake in the Philippines based on my own forecasting procedure. I also told them about the earthquake cloud he had reported at his Web site. And an earthquake occurred in that area a short time later and claimed some lives.

I believe that Don had a forecast listed here for the same earthquake. Unfortunately I did not see it in time to tell anyone about it. One reason was that I was having major problems with my computer and Internet software at the time. It was difficult to visit many sites or read many reports without something failing.

On my Earthquake Forecasting Resources Web page there are links to a number of people who are attempting to forecast earthquakes. I myself have probably been in personal contact with many of them at one time or another.

On another note, I understand that Shan’s sun shadow based forecasting program will be inactive until some time in 2003. Building construction is blocking his sunlight!
