Hi Lowell,

I'm glad you have some time to get down to the nitty gritty details. Its totally you!

I am so envious of your students. Haven't I always said you would be a terrific teacher and here you are doing just what I'm sure God intended. Oh lucky them!!!!

So while we're on topic addressing event patterns, here's something I'd like to bring up. The pattern of activity off-shore 100km's from Port Hardy, in BC is coming around again. This same pattern preceded the quakes which occurred north of the Queen Charlotte Islands. A series of 3 >5.0 quakes just before the Nisqually 6.8 quake. In addition I believe this week hails as a top leader for off-shore west coast quakes.

While it doesn't convey that something will happen in days or even a month or so, it is fairly clear to me that something interesting is occurring which may lead to something more interesting soon. And let us continue to keep an eye on the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska. That place is a poppin' with 3's the past two weeks.

Lastly, let us not forget today is the 13th Anniversary of the Loma Prieta Earthquake. Tonight families and friends of those who were lost are still grieving I'm sure and the rest who endured an extraordinary moment in time will remember it as though it were yesterday.

Not long after this quake the USGS issued new probabilities for the local Bay Area with the expectation that a mirror quake might occur on the Hayward Fault within five years. So far, nothing. While so far nothing may be a good statement, it is also a reminder that for every day we say this statement, we are one day closer to the next big event.

Glad to see your smiling face around here Lowell. You've been sorely missed.

Petra
