Wasn't the 14 day advance notice caused by the earthquake precursor activity? And wasn't the last 3 hours in particular the unique ULF precursor that signaled the quake?

Isn't each situation unique? I don't think all can be lumped together into one big pile, nor can this incident provide the model for all others.

The admission that ULF activity is not understood should be a golden opportunity to do science. Unfortunately and regrettably it's not being done in the US right now.
