I think the answer just might be "yes".

Tying it all together might be similar to finding all the pieces after an explosion of sorts and then trying to fit everything back together.

I think the (raw) data streams captured today may be more revealing than those back in the '60s...so it's possible that the situation is improving all the time in this regard.

Your posting these types of puzzle pieces are just the kind of thing that moves things along...it appears.
