We're getting Close/ OT

Dear Friends,

Awhile ago I sent out an appeal to help a family in need. The response has been considerable (and I don't envy Debby having to write all those thank you notes.) The donations that have flooded in to save Debby's and Rosalie's house are making it look as if she will not lose it in foreclosure, but they still need a bit more. If you have contributed (one little boy sent in his weekly allowance of $10.00), thank you. If you haven't, now is the time. On top of pending foreclosure, it seems that now Rosalie will be needing surgery (next week). Eee gads.

Nothing is easy. This has been one of the most difficult years for many of us. I know times are hard, but for everybody who bears one hardship, are ten others in an even worse predicament.

We've got to band together and save this family from losing their house. They have two adopted two special needs children (Christian, from China, and Marirose from India). Despite their second mortgage problem, now Rosalie's surgery throws added expenses into the mix. (Ah, those copayments and deductibles we all love so much.)

So please open your hearts to this family going through a very rough time. If we all just sent our pocket change (not that I recommend that, as the postage would be higher than the total of the coins), this would get them over the hump.

Remember a time in your life when things were bleak and there seemed no way out. If you were so blessed, remember someone who came out of the blue and lent a helping hand. This is your time to "pay it forward" as they say. David Egan has set up a Pay Pal account for Debby.

I know not all of you on Gaarpadopt will participate, so I have cross posted
this plea to other lists I am on, some not even adoption related. I hope they understand

As I said in my earlier appeal, I just don't want to see this family of four lose their house because they chose to adopt two special needs children before they knew that one of the parents also had a special medical need.

So please, everyone, do what you comfortably can do to help this family in crisis. And please, please, please, plaster all your lists with this appeal, whether adoption related or not. Spread the word everywhere.

Do you remember those stupid chain letters where you send in ten dollars to the person on the top of the list and never got your thousands in return. Well, this is similar, only Debby is the one and only recipient, and at the very top of the pyramid.

Count your blessings and be generous.

Debby's address is:

Debby Fernandes
19022 Chemille Drive.
Lutz, Fl 33558
