because at the scale of these maps, 2 degrees would wbe scarcely noticeable. It might be visible at close-in rings.

Another reason is that I wouldn't know how to compute the path of the more distant rings. We're talking about the expanding 3-d wavefront thru a pretty complicated structure after all.
