popcorn quakes in LA

I noticed today that the LA basin has had another little episode of little popcorn quakes today. About 4. What interests me so much about these is that in the past year, they always seem to happen in clusters. Today was no exception. And they always seem to follow a geographic trace or line of some sort. Usually begining south and trending either North/Northwest or North/North east. Obviously there is some triggering going on here.

One has to wonder if someday if there were a 5 quake in the basin, could there be multiple 5s and 6s triggered throughout the area on a single day.

It was also this time last year that we began to see these little quakes everywhere and then we had W. Hollywood, followed a couple of weeks later by another round of small pops with some in the feelable 2 range. Then a couple of weeks later that Compton swarm.
