X Flare 8/3 |
This should be interesting now - we had an X1.0 x-ray flare yesterday starting at 18:59 UTC, max at 19:07 and ending at 19:11 UTC. I do believe that puts it right over the West Coast of North America (120 degrees west) - and 60 degrees east longitude would be sub-polar. Proton flux is very low - and geomagnetic storms are hitting. These would appear to be good conditions for any correlation of solar activity to earthquakes. Lets watch what happens.
